Sebangau Field Course 2018: New Year, New Experience with Borneo Nature Foundation!

  • News
  • |

Borneo Nature Foundation will be running a two-week field course in the Sebangau National Park in July 2018, which will be an informative and exciting experience with the chance to see some of the incredible wildlife that inhabits this special part of the world.

In Sebangau National Park, we monitor the orangutan and gibbon populations and behaviour, survey biodiversity and monitor changes in the peat-swamp habitat over time. With almost twenty years of research experience in this forest, we will share our knowledge and expertise to equip students with the tools they need to develop their own research and conservation initiatives.

We are looking for students who will thrive in a jungle setting with simple facilities and are eager to learn over an intensive two-week programme.

Throughout the field course, students can expect to learn the theory and methodology behind our long-term research and conservation projects and practice these methods in the field. These projects include, but are not limited to, orangutan and gibbon population surveys, GPS technology and navigation, camera traps, butterfly and dragonfly surveys, habitat surveys and habitat restoration and reforestation.

The 2018 Sebangau Field Course will run from 6 – 20 July and the cost is £980, APPLY NOW!

If you’re interested in applying, please download the brochure and application form here or email [email protected] for further information. We offer a window into a career in conservation biology and, hopefully, an unforgettable experience!
