On June 8 people can experience the wonders of a tropical rainforest without leaving the comfort of their homes. We’ll be live on social media from rainforests around the globe. Bringing live wildlife sightings from the rainforest straight to your mobiles, computers and tablets!
Rainforest: Live is a day of social media activity to give people a glimpse into what it’s like to explore a jungle in real-time. It’s hoped that Rainforest: Live will be a reminder of all the treasures found in these diverse and unique habitats, and the reasons they’re worth fighting for.
Rainforest: Live was launched in 2014 by Borneo Nature Foundation and is now going into its fourth year. This year, we want it to be bigger and better than ever before!
We’ll be joined by over 20 conservation organisations from Asia, Europe, South America and Australia. Participants will post wildlife sightings, from the forest where they work, on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and Instagram using #rainforestlive in all posts. Find out who will be joining us on our Rainforest: Live webpage.
To get a feel for what Rainforest: Live is about then check out last year’s action on Storify. We will use Storify to pull posts together from all organisations and social media so you can watch all the action in one place.
It’s not too late to join us for Rainforest: Live! If you’re from a conservation organisation and would like to participate in Rainforest: Live, please email [email protected]. We will then send you everything you need for the event, including Rainforest: Live logos and cool graphics.
If you want to follow the event, simply like the social media pages of the participating organisations, look out/search for #rainforestlive and enjoy! Don’t forget to share our posts and tell your friends about Rainforest: Live 2017. Help us share the beauty of the rainforests!
