This week we launched our new crowdfunding campaign Books for Borneo. Supported by Sir David Attenborough, we hope to raise the funds for a print run of our children’s storybook The Little Gibbon Who Lost His Song. The books will be donated to schools and charities across Indonesia, where there is currently a lack of environmental education resources. The campaign will also support our Education Team to provide storytelling sessions for Indonesian children to help them learn more about the amazing wildlife and forests of Borneo.
The forest fires that cause devastation across Indonesia every year inspired the Borneo Nature Foundation team to publish the book, which aims to give children an insight into the amazing species that call the forest home. Our hope is for children to also understand that the forests are at risk from fires and the people of Borneo play a crucial role in keeping these incredible ecosystems safe for the future. We want to provide knowledge to the younger generation about the importance of protecting the environment, as we hope to inspire them to become conservationists of the future.
It is an honour for Borneo Nature Foundation to have support from Sir David Attenborough for this campaign and we hope you can give your support too. Simply go to our Books for Borneo campaign page and choose a donation level. We have many exciting REWARDS on offer, including:
● Signed copies of the storybook by Sir David Attenborough
